If you travel to customers or work from home, you can still have a Google Business Profile as a service-area business.
Do you qualify?
Google requires that you deal with customers in person, either at your location or theirs. Businesses that only work online usually do not qualify.
Setting up
- Use your real business name. Do not add extra keywords.
- Pick the most accurate main category.
- Add your service area: the towns you actually serve, near where you are based.
- If you work from home, you can hide your address so customers see only your service area.
- Add your phone number and website.
Verification
Google will ask you to verify the business, often by video or a short recording of your work, vehicle or tools.
Keep it active
- Add photos of real work.
- Ask customers for reviews and reply to them.
- Update hours and services.
One profile per business
If you run two businesses, each needs its own profile with its own name, category and service area.
